Thailand’s Pavit Tangkamolprasert [main picture], the current leader of the Asian Tour Order of Merit, will lead a strong line-up of Asian Tour players at this week’s Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, which tees-off tomorrow.

Pavit is one of 14 Asian Tour members competing in the celebrated event, which is played over three courses: Old Course at St Andrews, Carnoustie and Kingsbarns.

The others are his compatriot Jazz Janewattananond, Australians Wade Ormsby, Cameron John, Will Florimo, Jack Thompson, Ryan Peake, and Kevin Yuan, plus Americans Austen Truslow, Charles Porter, Peter Uilhein and Ollie Schniederjans, New Zealander Nick Voke and Bjorn Hellgren from Sweden.

Pavit made the long trip to the Home of Golf immediately after finishing the Mercuries Taiwan Masters on Sunday, as did Jazz, Ormsby, Thompson, Florimo, Yuan, Truslow and Uilhein.

The Thai star finished equal seventh in the tournament to consolidate his lead at the top of the Merit list, having won the Yeangder TPC the week before, also in Chinese Taipei.

He’ll be hoping that form carries over into this week, as will Ormsby, who finished second on Sunday.

The majority of Asian Tour players competing this week are playing through a category for the leading players from the Asian Tour Order of Merit, as the result of the renewed partnership with the DP World Tour, as well as the PGA TOUR.
