What made you want to play on the Asian Tour?
Asia’s a good place and it’s close to home. I’m happy that I got through the Qualifying School and I really looking forward to play here this year. There are a lot of good Asian players around and I can’t wait to play with them.
How’s your experience playing on the Asian Tour so far?
Being in Asia is definitely different. It’s good to see what other countries are like and see how people live. It’s good experience for me.
When did you start playing golf and what sparked your interest?
I started playing golf when I was about 10 or 11 years old. My family and I lived like 500m away from the golf course back home in Australia. My dad used to play a lot. We will often walk to the golf course together and I would just go and have a hit. I guess I picked up the game from there.
What made you decide to turn professional?
I made the decision to turn professional when I won the New Zealand Open last year. I thought it is about time.
What would you be if you were not a professional golfer?
I would probably be a businessman.
How long did it take you to reach single handicap?
I reached a single handicap when I was 14 so I took around five years.
What are your goals in golf?
My dream is to play in the Masters at Augusta one day. I hope that by doing well on the Asian Tour, it will get me there.
What keeps you on top of your game?
I practise a lot and I do a lot of short games. I do a lot of gym works as well to keep myself on top of the game.
The toughest part for me would be getting to know all the different courses. I’m trying to get used to the different grasses on the golf course and the sand in the bunkers. It has not been easy but it’s been a good experience so far.When you are not playing golf, what will you be doing?
I would most likely go fishing or just hang around with my good friends.
Who is your inspiration?
Tiger Woods has always been my favourite golfer. He’s been my favourite for a long while now and I really look up to him.
Name your dream fourball?
Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy, My Dad and myself.
